How did you start in the commercial real estate business?
I started my time at Gateway in their affiliate company at the time - AmeriSouth Auctions. I primarily helped all aspects of the auction - from advertising to tabulating the sales figures.
How did you get started with the auctions for AmeriSouth?
I was home from college, and they needed help with an auction. I thought it would just be a one-time thing, but I did well, so then they asked if I wanted to work the rest of the auctions with them, and it started from there.
When did you make the switch from auctions to commercial real estate?
I did both for a while, but transitioned into commercial real estate, and predominately do commercial real estate now. That was my goal when I first started to move into the commercial sales and management side of the business.
What do you like about our job working in commercial real estate?
The people I work for. Flexibility in my schedule. And the networking is good too. I just enjoy putting deals together.
What would you say is your specialty area within commerial real estate?
I have started to transition into the management side of the business. I enjoy seeing a property perform well for the owner, and we are directly responsible for that - the leasing, management, etc.
What's your advice for success within the commercial real estate market?
Network.
